Great folks running the place. They are a wealth of information about the local area. Gave us lots of great suggestions for things to do while we were there.
I have just spent 3 nights at the Keubler Waldrip Haus with my husband. The venue was for our daughter's wedding. What a marvellous place. Could not fault it. Daryl and his mother were the perfect hosts and the wedding ceremony took place outside overlooking the fields. Wonderful. Hope to be back for the anniversary all the way from the UK.
A couple things to note is that Google Maps had the location on the wrong side of the road. Also, the main office is in the far building (house), not the first building you see as you turn onto the property, which was confusing to us. So I have put in an edit to Google Maps that points the location to the actual building, not just a location on the road. Waiting for Google to approve.
Our hosts were very kind. Breakfast was pretty standard with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and an apple crisp breakfast treat. Food was good and was served family style in the original part of the house from 1847.
Overall, this was a nice place. Would I choose this place again? Maybe. I wouldn't avoid it, bit it wouldn't be my first choice in this area.
Stayed the night at this bed and breakfast in mid January. We stayed in the old schoolhouse main room. The room was comfortable and warm. This would be a great room for a small family that needs a kitchen as part of their experience. The room did not have a shower but did have a jetted tub. However, the water heater apparently wasn't big enough to handle filling up the tub for a hot bath. The bed was comfortable, and big enough for two adults to sleep. The TV in our room was a fairly old flat screen. After watching more modern units, it was difficult to watch this TV.
This was my boyfriend and my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and didn't know what to expect but once we arrived and met the Wauldrip's it was comforting like we were home. The house and property are very quaint hidden in the country but only about 5 miles from the city, tubing, historic town of gruene, schlitterbahn and downtown New Braunfels. The breakfast is wonderful and the cozy home stead offers wine in the nook area. I'll be back and highly recommend this place to everyone. Thanks for a great experience Wauldrip's.
This place was so quaint and wonderful! Really cool architecture, decor, and a very warm friendly staff. The family that runs it is so nice, you feel like you're staying with family! The breakfast was amazing and all the free treats were great. I even enjoyed that cats! And the room was very spacious and charming. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect location away from the bustle on a very nice property with lovely views of sunrise/sunset. Exactly what we were looking for. Looking forward to staying there again.
