Took mid week trip with a friend. Stayed in the Stonewall cottage with 2 floors, two beds and kitchen. Quiet with lots of open space and pool. Great way to enjoy the Hill Country heat.
Home away from home. Great place to get away. Love the cottages!
TL;DR Hostile sleeping environment that is not worth the cost. Plus the closet smells like a main stop on the underground ferret smuggling operation.
We were stopping in the area for the night and stayed in a cottage and loved it. So cute and quaint. Right in the heart if gruene.
This place is very cute. The pool and the playground are nice, especially when traveling with a 4 year old. Unfortunately, the first night we stayed I was woken up at 5am by the digital alarm clock blaring the radio at full blast. Imagine being woken up by a loud alarm that you cannot turn off in an unfamiliar place 2 hours before you plan on getting up for a full day at the waterpark. I was pretty mad, and barely made it back to sleep before dawn, but I chalked it up to the previous guest. Yes, at $200/nt you would think the housekeeping staff could check the alarm to not leave a hostile sleeping environment for the next guest, but hey, they didn't get the dead cockroach under the table either so maybe you have to pay more for that.
The following night I made sure the alarm clock was unplugged and lifeless before going to bed. No time displaying, dark and pleasantly quiet. Imagine my fury when it goes off AGAIN at 5am because this is apparently the last digital alarm clock of it's time and it's not going out without a fight. Battery backup. I was so furious I threw the alarm in the parking lot, it was still screaming "EIK eik EIK eik EIK eik EIK" when it hit the ground.
